Fortlane Partners advised Mainova AG (“Mainova”), a leading full-service supplier of electricity, gas, water and energy services headquartered in Frankfurt/ Main, on the acquisition of a majority stake of mobiheat GmbH (“mobiheat”), a specialist in mobile heating, cooling, and steam units in German-speaking countries.

 

As one of the ten largest regional energy providers in Germany and the largest in the federal state of Hesse, Mainova covers the entire value-chain of a multi-utility company. By acquiring mobiheat, Mainova further strengthens its energy service business exploiting the great market potential in the highly attractive mobile heating and cooling markets.

After its foundation in 2004, mobiheat has been an innovation leader for heating and cooling solutions as well as services and accessories and has grown from its headquarters in Friedberg-Derching to eight locations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with circa 100 employees. The transaction also includes the two foreign subsidiaries in Austria and Switzerland. The shares were sold by Energieversorgung Offenbach AG (EVO) and the founders of mobiheat. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
